Question Skid Plate question

I was looking through the Ford literature (dealer info, not the inaccurate color brochures) and noticed that the skid plate option says "transfer case and fule tank skid plates" while the ORP includes "fuel tank, tansfer case, & frame front crossmember" skid plates.

Since I am trying to decide between XLT Sport 4x4 and XLT ORP, I would like to know if the ORP really does include an extra skid plate. Anybody know?

my Sport has a rather large front skid pan, forward of the axle. I got the skid plate option, $60 invoice, & i'm actually not sure how the packages worked together to get the front pan.

My 97 4x4 ORP has plates in front of the front crossmember, under the transfer case, and under the fuel tank.

The 99's I looked at a couple of months ago had the same plates.

These plates are to light to offer any serious protection other than from gravel thrown up under the truck. If they had not come with the ORP, I wouldn't have ordered them as a seperate option.

My 97 Lariat 4X4 came with the optional skid plate package that then cost $156.00 and has a substantial front plate as well as the other two. Have they changed something since then?
