After-market Posi for '94 F150

Hi--

I've got a '94 F150 4x4 with an open diff (code 19) and the 351. I'm looking to replace it with a Limited slip differential. On another site's forum, someone suggested a Powertrax No Slip, but in talking with the guys there, they're telling me I have 9.75" rear, and they don't make a drop-in differential for that rear end (8.8" only). So my questions are:

1. Is that true, that I would have a 9.75" rear due to the 351 (i reckon more power than the 302)? How could I tell for sure--I've seen it listed as a 10 bolt and a 12 bolt...

2. Can anyone recommend a different after-market limited slip differential I could put in this truck?

3. What about getting a factory LS (H9) diff from say a junkyard? Is that dumb, given the clutch plates wear out? Thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

Rick

Don't know what site told you that, or what color the sky is on their planet, but they would be incorrect. To my knowledge, they didn't use the 9.75 prior to '97.

1) '87-96 F150s use the 8.8" exclusively.

2) Read this post.

3) The factory L/S can be rebuilt with a ~$60 kit from Ford or probably less from an aftermarket supplier. Shop around.
