Gears will provide more noticeable gains than all of the other things you listed combined, IMHO.

You're probably gonna want to look at 4.56 gears.
I run 4.10s with street tires (not large 4x4 tires).

i got 4.56 gears and 35's takes the rpms up a little on highway but will pay off for city driving you will get better gas millage and power with new gears 4.56's are best for you

Hey BlackBeast02... How about some pictures? I would like to see your RCD suspension setup. As for gears, I agree the 4.56's will give you the extra "Kick in the pants" that is lost when running larger tires with stock gearing. I have 35's with stock 3.73 gearing... I rode in a friends truck that was re-geared to 4.56's with 37" tires WOW!! what a difference.

My next modification will be re-gearing to 4.56's. My friends had his done @ the dealership(why? I do not know) and the cost for front and rear re-gear was almost $2000 dollars.... I hope I can have it done cheaper. Once again post some pictures of your ride BoB

I'm not going to change my tire or rim size anytime soon and even if i do it's gonna be something like 20'' not anything extreme. Is 4:10 gears good for my application or should i go with 4.30? I'm all about performance right now.

Thx

im gunna feel embarassed if im wrong but when u say bring them the axles do you mean literally take the axle off your truck and bring it to them or just drop the whole truck off and let them take care of the rest?

For stock tire size (or close to it), 3.73 or 4.10 would be my recommendation. I'd lean toward 4.10, expecially if you are focusing on performance.

3.73 isn't enough of a difference to justify from your 3.55.

I run 4.10 with 285-60R18 tires...street-size, just slightly larger than stock, in other words. Lightning wheels with a slightly taller tire than what the Lightnings run... but even if I had the stock tire size, knowing what I know now, I'd still run 4.10s.

4.10s are the second-best mod I've ever done, right after the supercharger.

By the way, my MPG was hardly different from my stock 3.31s.
Stock, I could go 330 miles between fillups (never running to empty).
Now, with the 4.10s and the supercharger, I can go about 300 - 310 miles between fillups...I attribute the most of the loss to the supercharger, larger injectors & fuel pump and the fact that I drive much faster now

Thx for your response, very good info. Do you think i should i really need limited slip too? Right now im 3:55 non ls and wondering if i really need to spend 500 additional dollars just for the ls unit. Im not going to be going blown or anything. My mods are in my sig and my future mods arent gonna be anything extreme, like electric fans and highflow cats.

Where can i buy a complete gear swap kit by the way? ring pinion and ??

thx jordan for your input.

If you ever drive in slick conditions, I'd say yes to LSD.
I tow a boat up slick launch ramps, it makes a big difference.

But if you mostly drive in dry conditions, and don't mind a little inside-wheel-spin when you nail the throttle on tight corners then save your dough...

If you think you'll want LSD at some point, keep in mind that you'll save a little on labor if you have everything installed at once.

the front axle must come out of the truck to be regear the rear doest but it always easyier to work on a bench than under a truck right maybe allow them to do a better job as well that most of ur cost in them removing them u make it easier for them they may charge u less
