What exactly are you trying to achieve out of putting in a locker?

A locker locks the two axels together.
When you go around corners the locker ratchets to allow the one wheel to turn farther. Daily driving is made uncomfortable especially slow speed parking lot tight turns as the locker bucks and pops.
A posi engages the other axel with a clutch system that senses the torque.
Below that torque level the two axels are free to turn at two totally different speeds.
An air locker or an electric locker are selectable and allow the driver to engage the locker in low traction areas when needed.

Actually it will make a difference. Especially in your 2wd. I had a Detroit Locker in my Bronco and use to get into some pretty nasty stuff without having to go to 4wd. Of course I had the tires to go with it. If you are in a situation that you might need it, a locker is a good way to go. But if you just ocasionaly go off road, then, it's alot of money spent.

I know guys that use an air locker just for pulling their boats out of the water. Saves that embarrasment of watching your truck slide into the water.

If you're not re-gearing it, figure about $500. Call around to some local trans shops that deal with drivelines as well and you'll get some decent prices. I like the prices on parts from www.riederracing.com or www.randysringandpinion.com

2WD with lockers is better than 4WD with open diffs IMHO.

For rocks and low-speed stuff like that, I think a locker is much better than LSD.

But make sure you get an air locker or e-locker if you want to drive it on the street.

Ok, thanks for those web sites. I'll check those out. An e-locker is a locker that i can just flip a switch while im the the cab of my truck and I can go from there right? I can still have LS back there even with the locker right? Is there any brand of lockers that you have found to work really well? Thanks for the help guys.
