Overdrive switch button
How do you remove the gearshift lever on a '97 F-250HD. The complete switch assembly is broken off the gearshift lever and the wires were cut off before I got the truck. Need to put complete new gearshift lever with O/D switch back in. Anyone know how to take this off and replace?? Thanks, Joe Snodgrass:

I had to remove my gear shifter to replace the boot in the steering column around the shifter.I used my Haynes manual,which has pictures and detailed instructions.There are too many details for me to type here but you can buy a Haynes manual at any parts store.
