Question Grinding Sound/ Feeling Before Downshift

Somewhere there is a thread open on drive train noises and someone mentioned that their automatic tranny / engine would make a grinding noise/ vibration right before it down shifts usually at highway speed. Mine does this also. It seems like the engine mounts are letting something either on the engine or trans touch the frame when under heavy load. Mine didn't always do it as much as it's been lately. I just turned 26K miles.

Anyone else have this or an idea of what it is???

How about FordFixer or Syscoholic or any other techs on the sight?

Thanks---Bob

Some have mentioned loose bolts on the cross-member for the tranny tail-housing mount. It's cheap- so definitely worth a try.
