Is it just me or...?
Not to offend anyone, but it seems that alot of the guys that post on here, that have engine/powertrain problems, have almost always modified their truck in some way, be it a programmer, bigger tires/wheels, lift or something.
I know all that stuff is cool, but it all changes the way the truck runs and drives, which, in turn causes premature parts failure.
I'm no expert, and don't intend to sound like one, and i know that some mods, actually help longevity, all i am saying is that when you modify something, it is not always good

Thank you, Mister Obvious.
However, I fail to see how electric fans can cause a rear end to start leaking, or how a chip can cause the stereo to go out. I don't care how many auxiliary lights you add, it's not going to cause the ball joints or tie rods or wheel bearings to fail any sooner. Sure, any mod can cause premature failure of the part or parts it works in conjunction with, but that's not going to stop most people from doing it if they deem the risk to benefit ratio to be on the good side of bad.
And when you do break it, that's why this forum exists.
We're here to help!-Joe
