Speedometer Issues

So my husband drove my truck up to the store and comes back and says "Your speedometer just went up to 100 and stuck there" it was like that for a day then went back. Anyone know why this would happen?

Either there's a short internally in the instrument cluster, or the speed sensor on the rear differential is bad. I'd shimmy under the truck and unplug the speed sensor to see if it drops down.

I'm sorry I can't help you, but I have to ask where you got your guage cluster, how are your needles blue and your odomotor blue instead of red needles and a green odomotor?

Hey Squirrelly girl- Looks like you are running on empty. Get a fill up before you run out of gas!

My first reaction would be to ask your hubby why he took YOUR truck to over 100 MPH!! ha, ha...

If it's all better now, and has not done it since, has hubby driven the truck since then??

I'm only joshing ya and I'm sure your hubby treated your truck with respect.....

Could be lots of things. It's an electronic device so there is no mechanical connection to the trans for the speedo/odo. I believe it's all controled via the computer, so you don't even have the old VSS gear setup either.....
