Vibration Won't Go Away
Vibration Won't Go Away
I have had this vibration coming from the truck for about 10k now. I have had all four rotors replaced and both front/rear driveshaft u-joints (4) replaced. But my headache continues. Vibration/shuddering from truck while braking from high speeds. When coming to a stop, it feels like the brakes are catching in an uneven spot on the rotors, but remains even after having rotors turned. Could this be caused by worn out wheel bearings or broken down gear oil in the diff (from drive train binding)? Someone please help.
Did you replace the rotors or have them turned, or both? A word of caution, if you buy the cheapie autozone or advance or whatever brand rotors, they sometimes must be turned right out of the box. They are not nesscarily true right out of the box. Yeah that's a dirty little secret that a parts man let slip one day. The rotors really are the most likely culprit and with respect to having warped rotors turned, I have gotten them back and they be really no better than when I took them in, which is why I have pretty well abandoned the practice of having them turned. It seems like noone takes the time to do it correctly and it is so expensive you might as well spend the extra few bucks to get the good rotors.
Just some things to think about.
