Grease for '03 Supercrew

Guys, I guess since it's been so long(20 years now) since I've purchased a vehicle, lots of improvements have been made are far as keeping things lubed.

I've noticed there are no grease fittings anywhere to be found on this truck. Is that so? None on the driveshaft? U-joints? How do these things stayed lubed and/or is there any maintenance that needs to be done for U-joints, ball-joints, drive shaft, etc......?

Thanks, ahead, for any info.

As every other auto manufacturer, they took out the grease nipples and claim that they are permanently greased. I think it saves Ford $0.03 per truck . A needle point on the grease gun will lube it up. I'm just ignoring them, until they need to be replaced and I'll get greaseable ones.

There are 2)zerk fitting on the idler arm. For the front suspension components that have boots, carefully puncture with this:

Thanks, Max. I'll have to get one of those.

How about U-joints? I've got a '86 Toyota 4X4 that I've always shot grease into the U-Joints(zerk fittings) every oil change. With 388,XXX miles, never had to re-place one. Anyone have that kind of longevity with these new U-joints(non-greaseable)?

Thanks.

You're Welcome ! The U-joints are sealed as well; no zerks. They're quality units, but their service life will be limited. It will be vastly below 388,XXX miles.
