I got my truck back yesterday. Good to have ol' THUNDER back home. They did replace the serpentine belt to get rid of the squeak. Here's where it gets worse. Courtesy light on the door doesn't come on when you open the door or interior light is on. They said that they couldn't find nothing wrong. I got home and it doesn't work. They said the rattle I heard on the front windshield was from my bugshield. Bullhockey. I heard it before it was installed. They took it off and the rattle supposedly quit. They also admitted that they have already replaced a front windshield in an F150 due to rattle. As far as the alignment goes they told me it was going to cost $69.00! After I told them I had less than 12,000 miles on the truck, they finally changed it to warranty. I looked at the worksheet and all it said was that they adjusted the toe-outs. Nothing about the camber-caster adjustment. I even discussed it with one of the service guys when I dropped it off and he said as long as it was out of alignment it would be done. WRONG!! Needless to say I'm not too happy .

They said 'the bugshield is causing the front windshield to rattle?' That's just ignorance on their part. Sorry to hear about your problems!!

Who are they getting to work on our trucks today (and I am not talking about *every* mechanic..there are some very sharp people who really do know their stuff..just harder to find today)? Even some of the 'mechanics' I have talked to have said some of the dumbest things I have ever heard. This is why I do ALL of my own work whenever possible.

Thanks guys. I feel better already. One other note to pass along. I pulled the little lense off the courtesy light on the door to see if my computer (brain) could see why the light won't come on. I pulled the bulb out. Put a spare in I had. It lit right up. I put the lense back on. Said it took an hour, and charged myself $100.00! HA HA HA!! $50.00 to hook it up to the computer and $50.00 for an hours worth of labor. Even though it took me 5 minutes!

Its sad to find out that a dealer cant even take care of a simple problem. I have been waiting for the dealer to get me a new GEM moduale for my turn signels. I would much rather do the work myself as I know the monkey working at the dealer will do a sloppy job of it. I had the rear dif seal changed due to leaking, under warrenty. the monkey got gear oil on the arm rest. I just keep going back until they make me happy, and I keep giving them bad servay results.
