Drive Shaft

Just purchased from Ford Motor Company a new driveshaft. Everything is included, spline, u-joints, carrier bearing, and plate that bolts up to the differential. Is there any special line up that is necessary on this shaft to insure it is balanced? I am assuming that I can slide the spline into the transmission and then raise the rear plate to the differential and loosely install the 4 bolts, then raise the center carrier bearing into place and bolt it. This way I don't have to seperate the two shafts. Are the balanced fronm Ford? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is on a 1992 F-150 with a 5.8 liter V8 and an E4OD tranny.

Bolt the carrier bearing in before you bolt the flange to the diff. This makes it a little easier. Since you have splines that go into the tranny, there is nothing you need to do to align the shaft. Try putting some thread sealant or grease inside the splines on the new shaft to help eliminate the thump off the line that is common with that set up.
