87 F150 4X4 'rear antilock' light on

This is a really nice little pickup with a 358 H. O. Windsor and lots of power. However, it only gets 9 or 10 miles/gallon, and I believe that the problem has to do with the 'rear antilock' dash light is on. Does that mean that it is in full time positraction? I did not get a manual with the truck and the one found at Autozone does not mention such things. Is there a way to take this truck out of positraction in order to increase the mileage for in town driving? Thanks in advance to anyone who may know the answer to this question. Dennis.

Antilock braking has absolutely nothing to do with positraction. And if you have big mudder tires on your truck, 9-10 mpg is about normal for your 351 (not 358) Windsor.
