Hi, I was planning on getting new gears and a LS, but was unsure of what kind. On summit I found Ford Racing Gears, for $189, and the Ford Racing LS Traction-Lok for $259. Are these good products? and is that a good price? Also what gears should I go with 4.56 or 4.30.

My truck is a 99 f-150 2wd with 4.6L engine and 3.55 stock ratio. The stock tire size is 255/70r16, and now i have 315/75r16 and in 6-9 months I am planning on going to 315/75r17. Most of my driving is in town, a little freeway, and every other weekend I go out to the desert.

Ford Racing is a good choice for quality, ease of installation, and to avoid noise. That is a fair price. Once you get your 17's, you'll need 4.30's just to get back to your original performance. The uses that you listed are well suited for 4.56's and that's what I'd get.
