I have a 94 F150 that the primary hood latch will not latch the hood . The secondary latch is what is keeping the hood down which can be released from outside of cab. The cable seems to float or have no control over the latch. I was going to by a new cable or latch if needed. Has anyone had this problem , if so what did you find to be the fix?

I appreciate any direction on this matter.

I SOAKED THE LATCH IN LIQIUD WRENCH AND MADE SURE SPRINGS HAD FREE MOVEMENT AND REALIGNED THE LATCH WITH THE HOOD, WORKS FINE NOW.

 

I had this problem on my '99 F150, it was a small spring in the latch assembly that rusted apart. I had to remove the latch assembly to get to it and replace it.
