hey, I got a question, what is the size socket(ie; mm) I need for the retaining nut that is in the middle of the front wheels on 4x4 99 f-150's? The one that holds in the cv shaft? I had the right socket, but I left it on the side of the trail when i blew a cv, now i need to replace it, and I want to get it the first time to avoid trips. Thanks for the help.

I wanna say that mine was 1 1/4" or 1/ 3/16". I can't remember what metric size that is off the top of my head. I remember that 24mm is 15/16". Most parts stores around here will let you take an individual socket outside to test fit it if you need to (some make you leave your wallet inside). If you're still using pop on center caps you can pop them off and test fit them right there.

 

yeah, thinking about it now, I dont think my first socket was actually metric. I dont think it is 1 1/4" as i have it, so 1 3/16's I will try. thanks for the help.

p.s. I was sure sombody would have one lined me and just wrote "small".
