Question GEARS FOR 97 F150 4X4?

Curious i have a 97 f150 4x4 4.2 v6 5spd 3.08, w/ 235/75/16. i want to increase performance and get larger tires. I've got some good ideas from all the message listing, however i'm curious what do i need to do if i want to put 4.10 gears on? do i have to change and other gears since my truck is 4x4. Also is there a web site that sells US/STRANGE GEARS? THANK...

You will have to change both the front and rear gears on the 4x4 to do it right.

Cool

hminus,

I don't know of any Web sites off hand, buy you can surely find the US/STRANGE gear adds in any 4X4 mag. Call these different shops to obtain the best price. Tell them you want to "increase performance and get larger tires". Don't forget to ask about the bearing install kits.
