Which gears do I have?

Can anyone tell me which gears I have since I bought the truck used and don't have the sticker. It's a 2001 SuperCrew 4x4 with the 5.4 and an automatic. At 75mph in overdrive, I'm turning right at 2000 rpm's. Does that help or is there another way to check?

That sounds like 3.31 gears.
My truck has 3.55 and it turns about 2500 at 75.

*Edit*
Of course I am assuming you are talking about the rear-end gears.

Well, I guess that means that I don't want to do much in the way of going to taller tires then unless I change the rear gears. I'm currently running P265/70/17's on the stock chrome 17" wheels.

Lay on the ground and read the tag on one of the cover bolts. For example 3L55 is 3.55 Limited slip.

Yes, a tag under a cover bolt. Even easier, there is an axle code on the sticker on the driver's door jamb.

I'd like to know this as well... I have a '96 F150 auto 2wd... With 255/75/15's I turn 2500 rpm at 80 mph.

Gears

Try looking at thread number 142772. I asked the same question with a great response. You need to find the sticker that has your axle code on the driver's side door jamb.
