Changing reg. axle to limited slip?

I have an 03 F150 7700. With the 7700 package the axle code is 26 (light duty F250 3.73 reg.). I really would have liked a limited slip. Does anyone know just how much trouble its going to be to change it to limited slip? Am I going to have to gut the rearend and change everything? The 3.73s are fine so I don't need a gear change. IF it can be done how much will this cost? I haven't looked into it yet and thought I'd ask the people that know these things.

Hello mjc3834,

I added a Auburn Gear limited slip differential to my 97 with 2wd, 4.6 and 3.55 gears. I had 4wheelparts do it, it cost around $750 and was very happy with it. I have a stock Ford limited slip in my 2000 4x4 and the Auburn was much better. I know some people on this site have done it themselves but I did not.
