As a follow up to the cover, Royal Purple and gear oil out of the vent tube:

Love the cover, we have logged close to 500 mile since the install. No leaks or drips. Royal Purple is a very good synth that was highly recomended by a ford mechanic. I also changed the front dif and transfer fluids to Royal Purple. My wife said the truck "feels faster" with the RP fluids. No oil puking from the axle. I checked the oil level after a 50 mile trip on I-95 (because I could - thanks Mag-Hytec!). There was no foaming and I could touch the diff cover w/o burning my hand. Now I could not touch the OEM cover w/ Ford's oil w/o the cover being uncomfortably hot. The rear diff with the Mag-Hytec cover and RP was cooler than the front which had the stock cover and RP.
