4x4 automatic hubs
I have a 1995 ford f250 supercab 4 wheel drive. I automatic locking hubs. I have recently blown 2 hubs (Original manufacturer). I want to keep the automatic hubs. Is there a heavy duty hub out there on the market that will outlast the original hub? Or, will I have to change over to manual hubs?
Just a question, how do you know when you blow out a hub? What happens? Thanks!

Complete loss of power to the front wheels. Because the front rear is a posi, when one of the hubs go, it renders the front wheel drive totally useless. Also, I know one of my hubs are going to go again because then are chattering which is what happened last time.

put the manuals in. less expensive, much more durable and it only takes a second to get out and flip the switch. if you think you might get into something flip the switch ahead of time but don't pull the shifter until you need it.
i have had many trucks with warn hubs and haven't lost one yet. i recommend warn hubs to all my friends especially those with auto hubs. none of them have regretted changing to manuals.
