I'm going to be changing out my 9.75 carrier and I want to know if anyone has removed the ABS exciter ring and how it comes off assuming you did. Also looking for the link about which friction plate/clutch combo to add/remove to make the L/S tighter. Thanks.

 

The Exciter ring is pressed onto the carrier. To remove it, first remove the ring gear & then use a brass punch or drift to drive it off. To install, heat the ring with a propane torch while lightly tapping it into place. Be carefull not to damage any or the "teeth" on the ring or your speedometer & ABS operation will be erratic.
