The new 2000 F150 brochure now shows 3.73LS available on the F150 4x4 ORP with the 7700 pound payload pkg. Finally, a lower gear than the 3.55LS for the 17" tires. Does anyone know what extras come in the 7700# pkg? Would this be a five lug axle?

 

The 7700lbs. payload package basically replaces the light duty F-250 for the year 2000. And if I'm not mistaken, it comes w/ a 7-lug axle and you can't get the ORP. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. The brochure shows 7700# available with 4x4 and snow plow option-Does not state anything about ORP so you are probable right. Since I don't want 7 lug axles and don't think I would have much use for snow plow in Dallas, guess I will pass.

 

The 7700 does not just come with the 7 lug, It also includes the 250 frame, shocks, oversized brakes and a few other goodies.

According to the "Build Your Own" area of the Ford website, you can get the 3.73LS with a long-wide bed F150 (non 7700#). Of course, if that's not what you want, then it's better to just have some aftermarket gears installed.
