recently going down the hi-way and my 97 F-150 4wd it made a sudden jerked in the front, i had just taken it out of 4 hi about 5-6 miles before i got on the interstate, could it posssibly be the wheels didnt disengage? and then decided while i was doing 70? it has been cold here in WV , and i have also had a few times were i had a hard time getting it in 4 hi any thought about the sudden and pants crapping jerk

 

I have never experienced it . I have heard from my brother a ford mechanic that you need to drive in reverse to disengage the hubs after going to 2 wheel drive . I don't do it on mine but not say it won't happen .
