Several weeks ago above code came up on wifes 2004 freestar 4.2L. I checked for obvious vacuum lines off etc and re set. Also simultaneously noticing a coolant/water gushing sound upon acceleration. A few days go by and wife says car is now 'smoking' and smells real bad ( like Uncle Bill).
Now I open hood and smell coolant. I Run engine and see coolant pissing out of heater hose. The stream is going directly onto the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. Which leads me to my list of Probable Causes from my Ford Service Manual, ie: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (incorrect reading). I am going with FPS as cause of code...
