1993 Ford Bronco Resurrection

Ok guys, I recently bought a 1993 Ford Bronco. Im going to use this thread to lets say "resurrect" the old beast. Its body is surpisingly not in bad shape. The motor 5.8L 351w has seen better days but still runs good. The interior is all there but needs redone badly. My first priority is the window motor in the back, currently I have a thick piece of plastic blocking rain. Then with that I need to replace the front core mounts, as they are completely rusted off (only rust on the whole truck). So to start im gonna make a list of things that need done and if anyone has done them or has any suggestions feel free to let me know. I will be adding pictures to this as i got for the things I fix.

1. Front Core Mount Replacement
1.5 Replace the crappy 2 core radiator with a 4 core
2. Back window Motor Replacement (I have the mindow)
3. Alignment
4. New tires (some suggestions)
5. System (has nothing)
6. Motor (want to be a step ahead of it if it decideds to go)
7. Window Motor for passanger side door
8. New mirrors all around
9. interior overhaul (carpet, seats, panels) I can salvage somethings

heres the things ive done so far
1. Replaced battery
2. Replaced starter
3. Replaced AC Blower
4. Replaced Radius Arm bushings they were shot
5. Replaced all radiator hoses
6. Took the door dinger off (most anying chime ever)

I will end with the only 2 pictures i have

Aww man!! I LOVE that body style! Classic aggressive, overall good looks! Good for you, man. You don't see those everyday. I sure wish they'd make a 'new' one.

Are you going to go with an A/T or M/T tire? If you're going with an A/T, I'd suggest BFG T/A KO. I think the classic style of the T/A KO would go quite well with the classic style of the truck. If you're going with another M/T, look at the Trail Grappler. I have those now, and 45K miles later, they're still going. They're almost done, but that's good mileage for an M/T tire that rides better than most others in its class and performs like crazy off road.

Have you called any salvage yards in your area? Sometimes you can get smokin' deals on low mileage, perfectly good motors at the good ol' junkyard. Might be a good place to start anyway. I wonder how hard a swap for a different/newer engine (5.4, etc) would be?

With a little TLC, a few new parts, and a little hard work, that will be one of my favorite rides on the forum!

as for right now im going with a AT, the BFG's are and have always been my favorite and they would definitely look great on the truck. But im also looking at a set of Super Swamper Truxus STS's but havent pulled the trigger, they look steller but not sure about a super swamper all terrain. Im even looking for a smaller rim package, 16-18's on 35's but havent found much. I have thought of blacking the truck completely out but cant pull myself to do it.

Im definitely gonna take a look at the junkyard. The swap from 5.8 to 5.8 wont be bad, but the swap to a different motor would take some time. If i was to do that it would go diesel. Im still a diesel boy to the end, just couldnt pass up the deal on this classic.

The exhaust really needs to be changed, glass packs have never been my thing. I think a magnaflow with some LT's would sound great. But thats down the road sine there is nothing wrong with the exhaust right now

Nice looking bronco man! I definitely agree with you about going to smaller size rim though, the wheels look good on there, but to me they just look outta place on a lifted truck.

Yeah man I absolutely love them, they have to be lifted alittle or kinda look awkward IMO. But done right they look really really good.

Yeah it is the only real rust it had on it was the front core mounts, both rusted completely though

If you are going to DD it, then you might not want the super swampers. The Bronco being short wheel base, with agressive tires could get a little loose.

If you are going to romp it then the agressive tires would be good.

Is there a SAS in the future?

the swampers are not a mud tire they arent aggressive, Its their idea of an allterrain sand tire.

But no this truck wont be seeing much offroad action except the trails at hunting camp.

SAS is definitely in the future
