F150 top speed?

It's a '04 Heritage model, 4.6, auto, 4x4, reg cab with a 3.55 ratio. I had a couple of clear miles on a divided highway to try it for top speed this week and it topped at a little over 90 mph at a little under 4,000 rpm. There is about 1,200 miles on the truck. Is this the best it will ever do? Thanks Jeff

Welcome ! The computer limits the top speed. It is generally around 100 mph give or take. This is due to tire speed ratings. A chip can remove this.

WELCOME

I look at it like a governor on the vechicle. At a certain speed/RPM, the engine stalls. SUX too.
