No, probably not. It's made to attach, (after taking off the factory trim piece), to the tailgate.
Kind of a pain to open/close the tailgate, (just being aware that you're yanking on fiberglass/plastic brings you to that stark realization pretty quick), but other then that, it's cool.

Were you able to remove the factory lip guard without damaging it? If so, how?

After you take off the 8 or so torx screws that hold the panel on for latch access, there are 8 (again, or so), plastic clips that you push the middle thru and take off the outer part. (expander type clips).
Then there are quite a few of press in, (attached to moulding), clips that pop thru the top of the tailgate. Kind of like what holds the moldings on the bumpers, etc, etc.
You will find a bunch of square holes all along the topside of the tailgate when you take the moulding off. No damage occured while removing the moulding, other than a few of the little round clips losing one of two of their 'teeth'.
A piece of cake actually.
Hardest part about getting the spoiler on, (and trust me, I screwed up), I highly recommend having a helper assist you when you go to center/locate it. I didn't have help, (too much of a hurry), and it slid to the left when I was ''placing it' on the tailgate'. Doesn't look bad, but if a person looks close enough, you'd see it's off a bit..............oh well..............

Thanks, bikenut..............

I believe I'm finished pimping it out for a while. Gotta finish up the race car upgrades before I spend any more on the truck!

You Know?

You didn't have to take the gate rail off to install the Lund Backdraft.

Thanks, but I think the 'too much green' would clash with the roll up style tonneau cover that's on the truck.

I went major monotone with the truck, but the black kind of (in my distorted mind), breaks it up before you get to the black tonneau cover.......(at least to me)...........

(besides, that looks like alot of work taking those pieces off)
