3rd brake lite

I just asked our parts person to order up a 3rd brake lite assy, for a 2001 Lightning. It took about a week to arrive. (no close SVT dealers to us).
I don't have the exact part number with me. (it was ripped off the box when it arrived by the parts person).
The cost, (well, my cost, and I work at the dealership), was about 130 or so. I don't want to hear how I got hosed on the part, or how I could have gotten it cheaper at ebay/wherever.
I saw it. I wanted it. I ordered it. It's on the truck. I'm a happy camper.
Sorry I don't have more info guys, but if ya just ask for one for a 2001 lightning, it's the one.

These lights are on eBay all the time below list price.

However, if you want to order it, the part number is 1L3Z-13A613-AA

For factory parts, I would try www.fordpartsonline.com

What can I say?

There are 5 of us at the dealership that have that 'vintage' trucks. (anything from my 'old' 97, to 2002 versions).
Everyone, (now that I have mine on), and they see how cool it looks, has ordered one, so if the supply goes up, and they turn up on backorder, I guess I"m to blame.

They do really add to the look of the truck, tho.

Have fun. Enjoy!!!

(worst part of having it on there, is YOU don't get to see it unless someone else is driving yer rig, and steps on the brakes for ya!!!)

Mine's not a supercab/extended cab, so it may differ than yours, but I did it during my lunch break, (I only get 1/2 hour) , but anyway, it only took me about 15 minutes to figure it out.

Yes, the interior light has to be taken down, along with the 2 hanger clippies in the inside. Then you gotta be fairly careful about pulling down the headliner.

From the outside, just the 2 phillips screws, and pop off the lens assy, then it's got a rubber seal that has to be pryed out of the hole.

You have to unclip/unlock the electrical connector from the inside of the vehicle in order to get it all out tho first.

The biggest pain was getting my arms/hands inside and releasing the clip on the light for the original light setup. I guess plugging in the new one was a bit of a pain, but I'm sure EVERYONE has more patience then I have.

In all seriousness, if a person took their time, and worked at it, that it could be done easily in less than a half hour.

Good luck, have fun!!!!!
