Question Canadian made trucks/doorcrack

Hi,

If you have a canadian made truck (Oakville,Ontario Truck Plant)
Let me know if you have the doorcrack or not.
In what year was your truck built and how many kilometers/miles do you have on the odometer?

TIA

Nitro,

I believe there are two gutters on the roof.
Do you have cracks in both of them?
At what position can I look for these cracks.
What is the cause of them?

Ceesjan: I don't know what causes the roof cracks but the "opinion" of most is that they are just a paint crack. Not structrual like the door crack. I found them on my truck when I last waxed the roof. Open your door, stand on the floorboard and look in the corners of the rain channels, where the 90degree bend is. That's where it cracks. I put some clear silicon sealent up there and haven't had any problems.

Hi Tina,

I know now how the cracks look like.
I don't have them but saw them on a used truck at a dealer here.
About 2'' along the gutter near the windscreen.90000 km's on that truck, had the doorcracks real bad too.

When I checked mine I saw these hole's under the seals where the gutter ends!Just above the windscreen.
First I thought the metal of the roof was broken off,the metal had real rough edges.
Checked the other side, but it was the same thing there, rough edges on the metal.
But I wonder where the water stays if it disappears under the seal.
Are there any canals for the water to be removed?

Can't find the right Polished steel design, so once I modify the powercoated ones, I will paint them.
Q: Black or Blue?

My 97' canadian truck built 5/97(now in Indiana) has "The Crack" in the driverside door. 33K. Not sure if I am going to have it fixed. Nothing like factory paint. Called FORD assistance line to log my concern before my warranty expires. Waiting for FORD to come up with a acceptable solution.

My '98 came from that Oakville plant. No door crack either side in two years and 40,000 km (25,000 miles).

Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, factory box liner. My add-ons: Older Windstar (driver's side) wiper blade - the one with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains; "f150online" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.

My second of the "new" F150s. Great trucks!
