Running Boards

There is a truck center here in town that has Running boards for $849 installed and color match paint. What I can’t decide is step in bed or not on the running board on the bed part of the flair. Know for sure that I will get the step in the bed will help when I wash the top with the shell on. Just wanted some of the $02 that’s been in F150online

here are some pictures. http://www.prestigious1.com/images/Rbs/RB204100Ca.JPG

the difference I see is that the one with steps is on a long bed while the one without is on a shortbed.

With this in mind, I would say that the steps would look funny on a short bed as there is not a whole lot of room between the wheel trim and the end of the sheetmetal.
