joining the bed and the cab, is it possible?
I was wondering if it is possible to cut out the back of a pickup's cab, so that if there is a cap on the bed of the truck that it would all be connected, like an suv. I have seen blow thru designs in pickups so that sub woofers can fire into the cab and have the box in the bed. i would like to connect the bed and cab of a reg cab F-350, so that i could put a seat in the bed and it would be like a large bronco with a diesel. any help would be appreciated.
I had an '86 Toyota 4WD that I cut out a portion of the back of the cab and bed and joined them with rubber material similar to that camper top boot rubber that goes around the windows. I didn't cut the steel all the way to the outside so you couldn't see it from the outside unless you looked inbetween the cab/bed gap. It looked pretty good and functioned well. I was told at the time that if I were to weld the cab and bed together that there could be enough flex at times between the cab and bed to break it back apart.
