Question Drive gear indicator

Does anyone know thr procedure for adjusting the Park Reverse
Neutral Drive indicator? Mine is off and shows it is in Park, when in fact, it is in Drive! It's as if the whole thing needs to moved over a couple of notches. Other than that, everything is fine. I was wondering if this might be an easy fix that I could do myself.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Not sure on my F150 but, on my 92 Dodge it was just a piece of string with some spring tension. I had the dash apart one day and adjusted it by crimping a lead weight (the lead from a 22 bullet) over the string. The dealer wanted $50 to do the same thing.
