Question Side Emblems?

I was wondering if any of you knew whether or not the F-150 emblems on the side of all of our trucks have bolts holding them on. Some emblems use an adhesive material, but ive been told that the F-150 emblems on the side above the fenders have bolts securing them in place. Is this true? Thanks a lot.

Nikko,

No, fortunately for us, that is not true. They are held on with 3M double sided tape. There are three holes in the sheet metal though. The only purpose to these stupid holes is to align the emblem correctly. The emblems are removable, but you will have to deal with the holes being there.

Hey buddy if you have a hard time removing those emblems, try using fishing line or dental floss to cut the tape. Be warned the line has a tendancy to heat up from the friction and breaks easily so have at least 20+lb and lots of it.

Hey guys,

If you're taking off the F-150 emblems and would like to sell one, let me know.

I would like to have an emblem to put on the tailgate that matches the fender ones.

I need one that says "F-150 XLT Triton V8".

Thanks!

My emblems say F-150, XLT, Triton V8. I might want to sell them but ive got to get them off first. If not check on E-Bay, I always see them on there for like 5 bucks. Another situation im inquiring about is to whether or not the F-150 emblem on the back has the same three holes for alignment. Let me know. thanks

If you remove the emblems and the holes are left.......

Then my question is would a Cobra emblem cover the three holes up or would you have to do some body fill work?

Thanks for the Help

btw I am talking about a supercrew.

I tired the same thing with a friend of mines F150. He wanted to make cobra "R" kind of truck. But once he removed the emblems and placed the cobra one on he was disappointed beacuse it did not cover the holes......

2001 XLT Emblems

I have a 2001 F-150 Super Crew XLT. I want to change the side fender emblems to the plain "F-150" emblems I had on my 1997 XLT Super Cab. I used emblems from the base modle truck that only had the "F-150" script with no trim or V-8 script. My question is will these "97 emblems work on my 2001 fenders? Will they have the same mounting tabs? I also want to change the rear tailgate emblem from the "F-150 Super Crew" to a plain "F-150" emblem. Anyone know if this will work too? A very easy way to remove the emblems is with a hairdryer. Just heat the emblems up and gently pull them off! Saves the emblem if you want to reuse it. I read that several people want these and I'll sell mine cheap if the emblems I want will work! Thanks in advance for any help! Please feel free to email me directly at ZR7F2@aol.com
