Wiper recommendation

I have a 2012 STX and am unimpressed with the stock wipers that came on the truck. They streak the window bad and do not do well with the icy conditions in Rochester NY. Any recommendations of styles or brands that would be good for this? Do any of you swap out winter and summer blades?

I would recommend the bosch icon's for wipers. I just bought a set for the new maxima because the stockers sucked on there as well. I've only had them a few weeks but they seem pretty good. I did alot of research on them and it was between the icons and valeo 900s, but the icons are the only ones available locally so I went with them. I'm in IL, not as severe weather as NY, but I never switch blades for seasons.

I have bought Rain-X latitudes for the past few years. The set I put on my truck last year seem a bit more, 'chinese-ish', they streaked after 5 months and look pretty sun beaten.

Bosch Icons have great reviews. Will be buying those next.

my personal opinion is that beam blades suck....I usually use piaa's....they work pretty good for what I need them for...

I've had the Michelins for a year and a half and they have been great so far. They have just started to show some signs of streaking in the past few weeks so I will be replacing them soon, but I'm happy with the life I got out of them.

Cool

Over the years I've tried them all. I,m nearly blind in one eye and have astigmatism (spell check) in the other. So good lighting and wipers are mandatory for me. I'm fanatical about it. I'm constantly cleaning the blades. If the wiper blade streaks, even a little, I'm immediately on it. My T'bird stays covered and under a metal pole building. And my truck sets under the building too. So sun damage isn't so severe. Also, how well you keep the glass clean makes a huge differance in blade performance. Having said all that useless stuff. Nothing beats plain old Anco blades. The RainX's I bought last year only lasted a few months before they streaked. Before that I tried some other brand that I can't remember at the moment, that had some type of system to keep the blade planted. In all cases, inside of six months they all streaked, bad. So in answer to the question, I use regular Anco summer blades until it gets cold. Then I switch to thier winter blade. The blade is incased in a rubber sheath, and I believe the compound is different for colder weather. Kind of like winter tires.

Six months of use in Michigan winter and my vote goes to the Bosch icon's as well I have ran nearly all of the blades over the years. I am however not impressed with the windshield washer on my 09 as it ices up way too easy I think it had summer blend washer solvent in it which I have not gotten completely out of the system.

x3 for the Bosch Icons. My dad and I got them for our trucks. They work great in all weather conditions and have held up great so far (mine are going on a year old and my dads are about half a year). My mom put Rain-X Latitude wipers on her Escape and they were sub-par...decent but can be streaky.

I've used the michelines and rain-x latitudes. Both start falling apart in 8 months or so...and I mean fall apart.. I decided to go with anco wipers because they last the same amount for like 1/3 the cost. BTW I am in Colorado Springs...
