05 Side Window Glass

Ok so here is the thing. Last summer I was at work and sitting in my truck on lunch break. I had the windows open and just wanted to relax. When my lunch was over I put up the windows. My rear passenger window went up and I heard a crack sound. I knew that couldn't be good so I just tapped the window down button and well the window literally snapped inside the door. I can hear the mechanism moving and the glass stayed in place.

Fast forward 1 year.

Yesterday I got out of work and went to get something to eat. I'm sitting at the drive through and my front passenger window did the exact same thing. It broke inside the door..... granted it was 105 degrees in NY and 115 with the heat index. But the window was closed and I just hear "crack".

Could the glass have been defective or is it just because the heat outside with the AC inside? Last year the windows were just open no AC running or anything.

Anyone have this issue before?

Ok so I'm stupid. The Safelite guy was just here and showed me that the window regulator was broke. There is some kind of cable in there that must have snapped. I guess it was under tension and sounded like the window snapping inside the door. I don't think insurance covers this so now I gotta see how much this will cost me.
