I bought my 97 f150 a few weeks ago. I have noticed that when I drive over bumps, potholes, railroad tracks, etc.. the driver door rattles like it is loose or not shut tight. I've check latch mech. and the lock post all seems to be fine. I looked over and under the truck for signs of damage or body repair but it looks like new.

Any thoughs or similar problems?

 

Mine had the same problem... I just shut the driver side back door harder and lined where both doors hit the body with automotive weatherstrip tape. This makes it seal tighter. Haven't had a rattle yet. I've noticed that XL's have a similar problem with the window mechanism in the door rattling. If that's the problem...you're SOL.
