Best way to straighten a pickup bed...

Background story. 2004 F-150 Scab, a few years ago was hauling something heavy (either axles to junkyard or tree stumps, can't remember which), but I remember having to stop quick and feeling that thump of the cargo against the front of the pickup bed. I remember because it hit hard enough to make the truck 'skip' ( I thought "damn, THAT was hard!"), but I didn't hit the person/car, so that was my main concern at the time.

Fast forward to now. I've got a Bak Flip bed cover and the front rubber seal doesn't cover the upper rail due to the bed being bent. I didn't realize it before because w/out a straight edge going across from one side to the other you can't really tell. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for, so I'd like some opinions on what to do. Should I try to get the bed straightened (it's Line-X'd, so I'm not replacing it) or should I just try to fab a wider rubber seal (guaranteed to look cheesy, but cost effective)?

A few years of exposure on the paint will likely crack it if you try to bend the bed straight. If you do try, I recommend a piece of wood and try to pry it back, or straps and pull it back slowly.

my buddy was hauling a 4 wheeler in his and he hit the brakes and slammed into the bed and bent it so far it bent the part right under the rear window..well we drilled a hole through it and put a bolt and some washers through it and tied a cable to my hitch and slowly drove off and it straightened it out

Fab a hook like out of angle, make it at least 6" long so it pulls over wide area, you want it to have a lip so it don't pull up off top, include a hook point at center, use a long come along, back truck near a tree, anchor to tree, use come along to gradually ease it back straight, a little at a time.

It's how I'ld do it ... or use long 2x4 and big c-clamps.
