RUSTY DOOR BOTTOM FIX * pics *
Looks good! I'm going to do mine this summer! I have a small spot on the outside panel, I was going to use bed liner from bottom of door up about 3". Did you use a paintable bed liner? Can the bed liner be sanded for a smoother finish? I also like rocker panel you did but didn't yours have all the holes in it or did you weld them closed first? Is that enough Questions for now! lol.
NO holes on rockers...they werent really bad at all, just some paint rubbed off and didnt like the look of it. the bedliner i dont believe is paintatble, and really i didnt require that because its not really seen but by me, and was only to get rid cover and protect. As for the holes in the door that was a different story, i did have to put a few tacks on the inner skin because it was mving around some once i cut out all the rust. Check out my pics in the album and you'll see why i had to get the welder out.
Looks great!
I recently did a large patch job on my bed of my 2000 F150. I cut out a ton of rust, however it was decaying badly. I decided to use a sheet metal, fiberglass patched and resin, and it worked great. We will see how long it holds up!
As for my doors, I have the same problem and they are worse. I plan to wrap them underneath with fiberglass patch, sand and paint. I may also add the black texture like you did on the inside, that looks really nice.
Keep this post up, will need ti in the future for repairs!
