03 F150 - noise inside door panel

Just purchased an 03 F150 XLT and there is a "rattlling" noise inside the driver side door. Have never attempted to fix anything like this. Is this an easy fix? How? What book would you recommend to guide me through common repairs such as this? Repairing vehicles is not something I have attempted often...

Get a haynes manual from a local auto parts store for a 1997-2003 f150. They are based on a total breakdown of the truck, and cover everything. It even has a troubleshooting section.

Years ago I had a rattle in the door. It turned out to be an extra screw that a worker had dropped - as there was a screw but no emty screw hole

sometimes its one of the cables from the door handle assembly or something like that. mine has a squeak which is really annoying and im trying to figure out. if u get completely pissed off about it get a can of "great stuff" expanding foam and shoot some into ur door panel. its sounds dumb but my friend did it to minimize vibration cuz he has 4 12" subs in his back seat and it worked like a charm

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I will buy a manual - is the "Haynes" one of the best? I'm not much of a mechanic but I would like to make simple repairs and save myselg a little $$$! Guessing there's not much to getting inside the door...just been too busy lately to try.
