If you have the coin I'd recommend the Amp Power Steps. My wife wasn't too thrilled about the price tag but she does love them. In fact she's always the one pointing them out to friends and family.

I agree saving money is pretty tough for me .. about 70% of what I make goes right back in the business.. And now after 3 years I have paid all my credit cards down and I have become really cautious about using them again...

16 months later and the steps are still running strong. I highly recommend them!

Yup, electricstep.com is where I got mine. They've got the best prices around, and occasionally have sales. I ordered mine during a sale and got the LED step lights for "free".

I recently got a 2009 F150 and found that access to the bed was a problem !! I'm 6'1" and I never thought of it . They raised the rail and standing next to the bed I could just touch the bed with the tips of my fingers !! No wonder Ford offers steps. This is a reg cab, 6.5' bed .I looked around for a good solution and found that N-fab makes a good one .This is wheel to wheel , one step for the cab and one for the bed. They zinc coat the steel then powder coat it ,even match truck color if you like. It's being made right now .

I actually just installed some bully adjustable side steps on my truck today. Really light on the wallet, and after testing them a few times today, they seem COMPLETELY worth every penny so far. they may not automatically retract and extend for you, but they are adjustable if you ever lift or lower your ride, and if you remove them, no one would notice the few holes left by the pinch weld under your rockers. whatever you decide, good luck!

Here are the steps I installed

I hadn't noticed these N-fab 6 step bed access style side step / bars, and available in polished stainless? I like!

I tried factory steps and westin bars. I was not ever happy with either one.

Decided that the truck looked taller with no bars/steps, and I'm ok with hauling my lazy azz into the truck without them.

Off road, the truck instantly has 5" more clearance at the body line.

My kids are 4 and 5 and both need a little help getting in. They still think its pretty cool and my wife doesn't mind.
