Exclamation Break In!!

Ok guys, someone broke into my 02 Screw using what seems to be a very popular method, punching out the door lock with a screwdriver or something. Luckily there wasnt much to take, but of course now I have some body work to do. I'm planning on buying the door handle trim and then putting bondo or fiberglass over the key hole and painting it. In the hopes of preventing that again. I have keyless entry and the number pad so I don't forsee any problems being locked out. Does anyone know where I can buy the door handle trim?

i think the handles are one piece. i dont think you can get the buckets by themselves. that sucks though. i know several people that welded a little piece of sheet metal into the hole them used body filler to fill it in and made it look stock. pretty cool

Sorry to hear that Dizzy! My 02 screw has been broken into twice. Once like you mentioned through the keyhole. Your idea sounds good, but the only thing is its still very easy to break into our trucks. The first time they broke into mine, they just popped under the trim around the door handle. Thats an easy access too. Anywhere around the handle or lock lets them in no problem. Not trying to be negative and any deterrent is a good one, just thought I'd chime in.

Had mine broken into the same way, my stupid butt had an extra key in my console because I had just moved so they took the truck along with my wallet and all of its contents. I got the truck back with only damage done to the door at the handle.

I too have been a victim. I parked my truck in a not so friendly neighborhood which is where my school is at and the idiotic robber tried breaking in through the keyhole but no luck.......He then resorted to breaking the window to take my pioneer.( yes i didn't remove the receiver because i thought what the hell it's only about $100 bucks.) Luckily he didn't notice the amps and subs......
Anyways good luck but remember even though you put that cover over the hole the window is an option.

I'm pretty sure you could get the buckets of the handles from another truck in a salvage yard. Just paint them.
