2006 F150 Rear View Camera System
IHave a 2006 F150. I want to install a rear view system.
I went to a local Ford Dealer, they showed me a KIT that was put together by a company that they said was AER or ARE if I remember correct. I was told that this company put together kits for ford. It came with a factory rear view mirror, all of the necessory wireing, factory tailgate handle with cutout for camera, the only thing that kept me from buying the kit at the time, was the camera that came with the kit did not fit the hole correctly, I would have had to modify the handle. Everything else fit correctly and looked factory. I think the kit sold for about $ 600.00
Has anyone purchased this kit or heard of the company ?

I haven,t heard of that system, but I bought a VR3 camera system and it works well and is easy to install. The lens fits to the license plate bracket bolt holes, so there is no drilling and the pwr for the lens can come from either backup or in my case license plate light. It transmits wireless to the display unit and the display unit can either be hard wired or use the lighter plug in. I just saw an add from Pep Boys and its on sale this week for $79.00 with a $10.00 rebate. Let me know if you get it and need help.
