help, buddy crashed my truck

my buddy hit someone with my truck, he has got no insurance, i kno im an idiot for letting him touch it.

i need a front bumper, lower valance, bent the tow hook down. some other chit.

i was wondering he found a bumper on e-bay i just want to know if it is going to be a POS and rust out on me, or if it will fit well. heres the link, has anyone dealt with them?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-F...mZ330230162187

or know if their product is junk?

you let your friend drive your truck right?? he smashed it right?? you have insurance right? if you have full coverage your all set you just pay your deductible or he pays it whatever.. i know up here in mass as long as the person that did the smashing doesnt live with or share the same address you covered as if you smashed it yourself. but.. if you just have basic coverage your screwed.

You know you're an idiot, so i dont have to tell you that. Go to a salvage yard and get some replacement parts. They will be cheap and will have a lot of them. you might want to get your frame checked out as well to see if there was any damage. Also, you said he hit someone, wouldnt you owe them some money or work?

Question

From the sounds of it.. they probably killed whoever they hit. Hence, the reason that he can't claim it on his insurance?

gotta keep it on the down low..

This sounds a little suspicious. You can't do it and can't explain why even though you are fully insured? Anyhow, try a boneyard. There's also Keystone Parts, they have basically any body part/ wheel/ etc. for any model car/ truck. And they are cheap.

Salvage yards probably won't have anything worthwhile. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and head to the dealer. The parts will fit perfectly and you know it isn't some cheap eBay knock-off... You should be at about $500 in parts from the dealer.

Its a 98, I'm sure he can find a bumper/ towhook, whatever. Boneyards are full of the 97-03 gens, and I gaurantee he can find the pieces he needs cheap.

Admitting a stupid mistake is the first step. Learning from it, is totally different

I have a spare set of tow hooks if your interested. They will fit your truck. They're off of my 2000 when it was totalled.

The bumper and valance aren't that difficult to replace. The front bumper is held on by 4 bolts. If it is just the front bumper, tow hooks and valance, you shouldn't be out too much money. I'm not gonna bash ya though, I'm not your dad. I hope everyone was OK.

If you want the tow hooks, send me an email @ johnnyhardclose@yahoo.com, I'll let them go pretty cheap to help you out. They're just sitting in my garage.
