That is not BS. We've come a long way from the rattletraps of the 60s or 70s and then some.

I may have to borrow that dampener pic. It would go well with my presentation next week on "Vehicle Noise".

Any ways i had a look and i dont see that weight on my truck and i look at both sides. My box does not vibrate but it does wobble/ bounce up and down like it is vibrating when i hit bumps. I replaced my shocks because i thought there were toast. Ah well! Got a new set of shocks out of the whole ordeal!

Question Vibration Dampner(s)

I don't have one...

Last time I saw something like that...

1967-69 Camaro & Firebird convertables had oil-and weight filled (coffee can shaped) "coctail shakers" at all four corners.

'course the Camaro's all had them... why would the installation of this F-150 dampner be so... sporadic?

its a weight, round... and can go either up front, in the middle or ouT back.
It keeps the shaft from shaking around from certain tension/stress/weight at some source. i remember pulling one off a ranger that had a HUGE one up front.

I think all the Mark LT trucks have them, and some F150's. May have been added by performing that TSB mentioned, or may have been factory installed.
