Plastic Molding Pops Up Between Hood and Windshield
Plastic Molding Pops Up Between Hood and Windshield
Hi folks,
I have a 2004 F-150 SuperCrew and recently noticed the black plastic molding in between the hood and the windshield popped up. Figuring it just needed a good bump to put it back in place, I tried giving it a couple of pops. However, when I looked more closely at it, I see that it appears that the driver's side is actually shorter than needed in order for the three middle clips to engage the plastic on the passenger side of the molding. It's as though the plastic has shrunk in length. I am unable to push either side closer than what is pictured below.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Any ideas about how to (cheaply) solve it so that it stays put? I'm worried about it flying out while driving.
Here are some pictures of what I'm seeing:

My '05 had that problem and I never could figure it out... I have seen MANY others out there that have that issue too. My '08 does not do it, but a rental '08 I had before I purchased this new one had the issue.
Pay attention to post number 10 in this thread.
