I was washing my truck the other day (at a wash bay) and when I sprayed near the side badges, have of the "F" for "F-150" pealed off. Anyone else have this problem??? I'm booked for an oil change tomorrow, so I was going to bring it up there... I don’t understand how trying to keep the truck clean (and remove road grime and salt) should peal off the badge.

Anyhow, I'll put it on Ford to do something, because the truck isn't even a year old.

What you could do is Acetone them (removes all of the black lettering) and going online to reorder new black lettering or get the lettering in the same color as your paint.

All Ford will offer is new badges ($25 a pop!)

 

I've had the same paint peel problem. While driving around, take a look at other f150's you'll see that its a pretty common problem. I got tired of the ragged flaky paint look so acetoned all three badges-makes them appear all chrome. Took my truck in for warranty work a few weeks ago for an unrelated event and the service rep actually asked me if I would like the badges replaced under warranty. New ones look great so far...hoping ford has improved the black paint formulation, time will tell. If you want them replaced, do not pay for the new badges. Paint should not be flaking off a 2007 and its a minimal cost to Ford (if still under warranty) that will keep customers happy.

 

Well I have a 10 year old truck with 07 badges, do mine count?

I plan on getting the white-lettered inlays when mine start to flake.
