Replacement glass for side mirror.

I broke the glass on my driver's side rear view mirror. I was wondering, does anyone know of a place that sells just the glass. I don't want to have to pay to replace the whole thing. Any ideas?

yep

Some glass repair shops can fabricate some. Ironically when I bought my truck, the passenger side mirror was busted, I got a glass repair shop to cut and install for 35$

i hope im not too late, but i was in the same situation a couple of months ago. Try looking on ebay. i believe i bought mine from auto mirrors plus on ebay for about $20 or so. all i had to do was break the hold one out with a screw driver and then stick the new one on. much cheaper than the 80 something the dealer wanted and the ****ty fitting ones at autozone.

How do you get the glass out without breaking anything? I've got a 97 btw. I don't want to replace the whole mirror assembly, because only the glass is cracked. It looks like a 2 piece assembly, but I've loosed both phillips screws that I can see behind the mirror, and pried on the outter (glossy) plastic cover, but can't budgne anything. Thanks for any help.

I've read elsewhere that the the glass just pulls out. Mine didn't seem to want to...next time I'm at the junkyard I'll try it.

Anyway, I did pick up one of those plastic mirror replacement covers at autozone. That fixed it to the point that it will pass inspection. The view out of it isn't too great...but it'll do the trick I guess. 7 bux at autozone btw.
