Truck Caps---

how many of you have them? I friend of mine has one and uses it about, as he says, 40% of the time. I just have a bedliner and a taonneau cover. Any thoughts?

Thumbs up I love my cap!

I use the truck for work. Use the cap/bedliner every day and would not have considered anything else! Well a van... but they aren't close to 1/8th as perty!

Originally I was looking for a smaller 4 door truck, dakota or something along those lines with a cap - fell in love with the supercrew fx4, which had basically the same size of box.

Depends on taste too I suppose.. some like tonneaus.. some like those cool roll bars, others caps.

Mine was manufactured by a company called A.R.E. - another would be Leer (in my immediate area, not sure about anywhere else).

Did you ever look at Fibreline. They have the highest cap I've seen, something like 54 inches of opening from the bed.
I was seriously thinking of them before I decided on a BakFlip tonneau.
I have to say I'm happier with the tonneau.

Thumbs up Ohh right, I've seen those too!

Highrise caps are kinda cool but man, wouldn't want to pull into an airport parkade or normal garage!

I saw one the other day with a normal cab height body with almost another half on top - maybe 6" or 8" of window! above the standard side ones.

A feature I saw on the '08 superduties would be nice on mine for climbing in, one of those fold-into-tailgate steps that come down. Get's hard on the knees when trying to reach something that rolled all the way into the front!
