I took my truck in for the famous door crack problem. They said they were going to replace the driver door ( not door skin but a whole new door) and put the prevenative reinforcement in the passenger door. My roof channels had cracks in it so they said they would repaint the roof. THey do not do their own body work and sent it to a local body shop...after 4 weeks I finally got my truck back 2 weeks ago. The roof looked like crap and making them paint it for the third time...so the dealer agreed to send it to another shop...but they cant paint it until end of July. Now here is where I need some input. While washing the truck this weekend I noticed some dirt in the drain openings in the bottem of the door...and the paint around the edge looked like they had painted over where it had bubbled up some from rust. I am suspicious that the body shop put either a used door on or welded up the crack on my door and kept the new door the dealer sent over. I pulled the door panel off and for a supposedly new door...it was not very clean inside. Is there anyway I can tell for sure if it is a new door? All comments and suggestions are welcome.
